Painting for the Wind by Yoko Ono, 1961

Dear Higher Power,

I’m struggling. Surrounding myself with supportive poet Goddesses to lift my spirits for
limited intervals of time. Around us, democracy crumbles. Hard-fought advances in
women’s autonomy have been overturned. Only now I’m 75, not 25, lack time and
energy, resist by writing letters, calling elected officials, challenge those who spread
hatred and lies. Offer the marginalized and bullied safe space in my world. Form
alliances with other like-minded people of integrity and conscience. Find small ways to
circumvent spineless legislators, jam the cogs of a corrupt, malfunctioning, vindictive
governmental machine.

Please help.
