I work within the realms of universal dualities, my work tangles illusionary with realism, lightness with darkness, and whimsicality with truthfulness. The Self series portrays how both our internal and external worlds navigate the madness brought on by the endings of innocence, such as surviving personal losses, as well as coming to terms with our rapidly changing world.

Jillian Sarette Li is a Brooklyn-based artist who primarily works within the medium of charcoal. Her bizarrely fantastical drawings depict her own memories of people and places, shrouded in a lens of surrealist fantasy. She is currently working on bringing her art to life through animation.
