Finding Divinity in Art
by Sarah Walko
As a collector, maker and arranger of objects both organic and archaic, ephemera from the natural world meet antiquities of a mystical science suggesting talismans and telling stories. My work is about reminding viewers of their divinity and allowing ones perceptions to shift from the historical, to the narrative, to the scientific, to the alchemical and to the magical in a call to look closer and see larger. The work is also highlighting a rising feminine voice, a voice so connected to the natural world and so long oppressed through patriarchal power imbalance.
