All about love is about having a deep soul connection with someone and not knowing if you want it to transform into more. Our society elevates the worth of romantic love while pushing the other types aside. I use songwriting as a way to process feelings. After reading All About Love by bell hooks, I was reflecting on a relationship in my life, and this song highlights that love can be deep, beautiful, and intimate, even if it’s not romantic love. When I recorded it, I wanted it to be joyous, fun, and representative of the way that love made me feel. So we brought in a full band to jam together on it for my first album. This is definitely one of my favorite songs, still.
